Another question from the Chat Pack for today’s postaday challenge:
What is the greatest distance you have ever driven in a single day?
When I was 20 years old my friend from Maine was going to be in Oregon for a couple of days. The only transportation was Doodles my 1967 VW bug, so I packed it up and set off to drive to Ashland, Oregon. I just Mapquested the route and it estimated the drive time to be around 5 hours. If I adjust that for “VW time” I would say the trip took me around six hours. Each time I went over an especially bumpy road or train tracks, my steering wheel would begin to vibrate and I would have to pull over and then start driving. Doodles and I had a lot of great adventures! I have to say that I still miss Doodles!
